Joel "RAGE.ONE" Garcia is a visual artist who uses art to shine a light
on issues facing indigenous communities as well as youth facing hardships in the
inner-city. Joel grew up in the East Los punk scene of the late 80's and early
90's, where he was mentored by famed East Los Angeles muralist Paul Botello. His
love of art and music were combined when he worked as a visual artist for
Epitaph Records during punk rocks golden years of the late 90's. Touring North
America, but especially growing up in the Maravilla Projects during L.A.'s worst
gang years helped shape Joel's global vision, take to heart the needs of
inner-city & urban indigenous youth. This pushed Joel into using his art as
a tool for rebellion. Joel has used his art to help organize, trans-nationally,
between the United States and Mexico, most recently during The Other Campaign
(La Otra Campa�a) an initiative of the EZLN.
