Akil Ammar - Mi Barrio | BP Music Video
Nativo de M�xico DF y con m�s de 12 a�os involucrado en la cultura Hip Hop, Akil Ammar es un MC, artista de Spoken Word y poeta urbano, que a trav�s del tiempo ha evolucionado y reinventado su papel y compromiso con la comunidad. Con tem�ticas variadas, plasma en sus l�ricas desde relatos citadinos y experiencias humanas cotidianas, hasta problemas sociales abiertamente criticados, todo con la finalidad de tocar la sensibilidad del escucha, y hacerle llegar as�, un mensaje positivo y propositivo. El rap es la herramienta con la cual, adem�s de difundir otros aspectos de la cultura Hip-Hop, construye poes�a, animando a la reflexi�n. Co-fundador de IndieGente, organizaci�n independiente creada en 2005 que tiene como objetivo el continuo desarrollo y reconocimiento de la cultura Hip Hop, logr�ndolo por medio de diversas manifestaciones art�sticas fundamentadas e inspiradas en el progreso, resistencia y educaci�n de comunidades marginadas alrededor del globo con hambre de alzar la voz. Solista desde 1996, aunque entre el 97 y 98 pas� por el grupo Lifestyle. Sus influencias musicales han evolucionado, pasando por Public Enemy, Nas y Krs-One hasta Common, The Roots, Dead Prez, Blackalicious, Michael Franti y Mos Def, adem�s de g�neros musicales como el reggae, funk, jazz, blues y ritmos latinos como salsa y cumbia. Ha compartido escenarios y ha colaborado con artistas como: Dead Prez, Freestyle Fellowship, Alika & Nueva Alianza, Welfare Poets, Aztl�n Underground, Warclub, 2Mex, Ozomatli, El Vuh, Global City, Frank T, Payo Malo, SFDK, El Choj�n, Falsalarma, Skool 77, Bocafloja, y m�s. Presentaciones en Festivales Nacionales e Internacionales: Ademas de aparecer en Festivales de Rap en Cuba entre el 2000 y 2003, Akil ha trabajado en una serie de presentaciones en EU desde el 2004 gracias al International Hip Hop Exchange, Mano a Mano, Soul & Sol, Sexto Sol, Xicano Records and Film, Divine Force Radio y otras organizaciones (New York, Washington, Miami, Oakland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tucson, etc). A native of DF with more than 12 years of experience with Hip Hop culture, Akil Ammar is an MC, Spoken Word Artist and Urban Poet, that has reinvented his role and commitment with his community. With varied themes and lyrics ranging from day-to-day experineces to socio-political problems, Akil seeks to opens your eyes and ears while driving home a positive message. Rap is the tool through which he builds poetry and reflects on the world at hand. Co-founder of 'IndieGente', an independent organization created in 2005 with the objective to develop and recognize hip-hop culture, his efforts are focused on diverse artistic manifestations that are inspired by progress, resistamce, and the education of marginalized communities across the globe that wish to raise their voice. A solo artist since 1996, even though he was part of the group 'LifeStyle' from 1997-98, his influences have evolved from Public Enemy, Nas y Krs-One to Common, The Roots, Dead Prez, Blackalicious, Michael Franti y Mos Def, as well as musical styles like reggae, funk, jazz, blues and latin rhythms like salsa and cumbia.
