The Urban Latino Hip Hop Show was created by Terrence Romero and close friend Alvaro Macias of the Quad Cities. As communication majors attending St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, the two friends thought they would take advantage of the University's radio and television program by broadcasting a Latin Hip-Hop radio show to thousands of people from the University's radio station.

"I have always been a fan of hip-hop since back in the day, but I noticed that Latino Hip-Hop artist never received the media recognition they deserved, so I thought I would try to shine some light and give Latin Hip-Hop artist a voice," said Terrence Romero, radio/tv show host and producer. "When we first started the radio show in January 2004 I don't think people understood what it was all about, but now that Reggaeton and Latin Hip-Hop are starting to blow up people are starting to get the big picture."

The Urban Latino Hip Hop Show has traveled around the country to important Latin Hop-Hop events, such as the Latin Rap Conference, The Latin Hip Hop Music & Fashion Convention held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, LowRider Magazine Tours, The Urban Fusion Tour, Daddy Yankee's "Who's Your Daddy Tour, and many other key events.

"When we go to these events we bring video and audio recording equipment and record footage of the concerts, behind the scenes footage, and conduct exclusive interviews with the artist," said Alvaro Macias, radio/tv show host and producer. Since were not in a huge market we have to go to the artist or where the key events are taking place and set up interviews with the artist for our radio and tv show.

After a 1 year and 8 months of broadcasting the Urban Latino Hip Hop Show over the airwaves and traveling to key Latin Hip-Hop events around the United States and Latin America Terrence and Alvaro are now preparing to take the Urban Latino Hip-Hop Show to television.

"Creating a Latin Hip Hop television show was something I always wanted to do, but never knew how to go about it. All it really took was for me to start somewhere and that somewhere was with the radio show. Radio really taught me a lot and put me in contact with a lot of key players in the Latin Hip Hop music industry," said Romero. "It seems like a dream, but we are just in the beginning of putting the shows together and we already have our local Warner Brothers station interested in the project along with other media outlets waiting for the finished product."

The television show will consist of Terrence and Alvaro a.k.a. A.C. hosting the show, music videos of the latest Latin Hip Hop and Reggaeton artist from around the world, behind the scene footage, and exclusive interviews with some of today's biggest names in the Latin Hip-Hop music industry.

"Were just trying to show the true picture of Latino's in the Hip-Hop industry and give people a look at what goes on at various music events and show them the lifestyle," said Macias. "The Latin Hip-Hop movement is comparable to the Hip-Hop movement that took place twenty-years ago with artist like Slick Rick, Run DMC, Public Enemy, and all the other old school rappers. We just want to show the world how Latino's are making a difference in the music industry."
