David Rolas - La Fiesta Video Shoot
David Rolas
Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, David Rolas is a Mexican-American whose parents are from Durango and Jalisco, Mexico. David Rolas grew up absorbing and living both cultures, the Mexican/Spanish at home and the American/English in school. While simultaneously living a hybrid lifestyle on the brown streets of L.A., from which the new sound of urban regional hip-hop was born. While at home we listened to mariachi songs and Banda tunes, in the street we heard, fed and drank hip-hop. David assures, as a witness to the birth of the hip-hop culture in his surroundings, which, influenced him to get involved in the music industry. He started out as a club DJ under the moniker of David Jams and deejayed some of the hottest nite clubs like Sweet Sundays and Vertigos.
As one of the pioneers of the Urban Regional Movement David Rolas presents his second album from Spanish label Fonovisa Records titled "Tatuajes" ("Tattoos" in English). Tatuajes, like Rolas' previous album, Nuestra Vida, is full of humor, but the L.A.-based artist can be poignant - and that is especially apparent on "Querida Madre," an ode to Rolas' mother. The album also features party jams like "La Fiesta", that speak of good times with the homies and firme hynas.
This photos are from David Rolas' video shoot for "La Fiesta" that took place at the Rumba Room in Univeral City Walk in Los Angeles, California. Where follow Latino artists came down and showed their support for David Rolas and the growing Spanish Hip Hop movement...
