Latino Kings of Hip Hop National Tour 2004
UNPRECEDENTED LATINO KINGS OF HIP HOP TOUR
TO MAKE ITS WAY ACROSS THE U.S.
Hip hop fans across the country will have the opportunity to see todays top Latino hip hop artists perform together in the
Latino Kings of Hip Hop Tour. The tour begins July 28, 2004 and will be headlined by multi-platinum artist Fat Joe along
with his group, The Terror Squad, and will include artists Frankie J, Play-N-Skillz and Tony Sunshine.
Over the past ten years, Latino youth both English- and Spanish-speaking have increasingly made hip hop, R&B and
reggaeton their most preferred forms of music. In fact, Latinos have eclipsed both the African American and general markets
as the ethnic group that represents the largest purchasers of hip hop music. The Latino Kings of Hip Hop Tour will be
unprecedented in bringing the hottest Latino talent in the genres of music that are most relevant to Latino youth together on
one stage!
The tour kicks off with a show in New Haven, CT on July 28 and will continue through the Northeast before continuing on to
reach twenty markets throughout the United States and ending in California in August. Yet another unprecedented aspect of
this tour is that it will not favor any one particular region of the country. For that reason, the tours production team
has taken care to book artists for the tour that resonate strongly amongst Latinos of all national origins from every part of
the United States. In order to remain responsive to the local urban flavor of markets included in the tour, regional artists
with a strong following will have the opportunity to be included in the tour.
This tour will coincide with releases from four of the artists associated with the tour, Fat Joe, Terror Squad, Frankie J and
Play-N-Skillz. They will each have new singles in rotation during the tour and new videos airing on television. Yet another
powerful aspect of this tour is that it will be filmed for future airing on national television and which will be later
distributed for sale as a DVD.
Never before has a hip hop tour brought together artists of this caliber with the specific goal of reaching this burgeoning
segment of the United States population urban Latinos. More importantly, the artists on this tour are credible hip hop,
R&B and reggaeton artists for hip hop fans of any ethnicity. Elis Pacheco, one of the principals of the tours production
and marketing company DMG and the son of legendary salsero Johnny Pacheco, along with his partners Denny Marte and David
Sanchez are excited about this summers tour, Everybody, young, old, whether your Latino, black, white, Asian whatever
your gonna love this tour because youll get to see the hottest artists in the game.
About Fat Joe: As far as hip hop is concerned, no one keeps it realer than multi-platinum, South Bronx native Fat
Joe. His most recent album, Loyalty, produced the hit single, Whats Luv? He is currently working on his upcoming CD
scheduled for release at the end of 2004. Joe can currently be heard on the new Terror Squad album entitled True Story. The
first single off the Terror Squad album, Lean Back, is impacting at radio as we speak. Joe is not just the East Coast
Latino King of rappers. This tour in fact anoints Joe as the National King. Through his own releases and those of Big
Pun and The Terror Squad, Joe has earned that title.
About Terror Squad: Terror Squad has been a credible force in hip hop since the 90s. The group will be releasing
their new album True Story on July 20th through Universal Records. The first single off the Terror Squad album Lean Back is
impacting at radio as we speak. Through the solo releases of group members Big Pun and Fat Joe, The Terror Squad has earned
the title of the collective Latino Kings of Hip Hop.
About Frankie J: The success of Dont Wanna Try and his album release Whats A Man To Do? has positioned Frankie as
The Latino Usher. Signed by President Don Ienner to Sony Music who proclaims with this his 2nd album release, Frankie is
on the threshold of major stardom. His new single On The Floor impacts at radio on June 29th and his new album hits the
stores In August, 2004. The album features production from hit-makers like Bryan Michael Cox, Night & Day and Happy P. This
album will cement Frankies position as the West Coast Latino King of R&B.
About Play-N-Skillz: Starting as two of the hottest D.J.'s in the Dallas/Forth Worth scene, the duo Play-N-Skillz was
constantly booked in Dallas/Forth Worth's top clubs. Play-N-Skillz decided to focus their efforts in changing the
Hip-Hop/Top 40 scene by becoming producers straight out of high school. Their early work began as remixes for the dance and
hip hop world. After numerous 12" releases and bleeding the underground mix tape scene, it was timed to steer into the
mainstream side of music. Within months, the best of the best in the industry were coming to Dallas and working with them in
the studio, Petey Pablo, Fabolous, Lil Jon, etc. Word quickly spread about Play-N-Skillz throughout the music industry.
After producing and remixing tracks for some of the hottest hip-hop and R&B acts in the nation, they are releasing their
debut project, "THE PROCESS."
