Funkdoobiest
Under the auspices of DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill, the L.A.
rap act Funkdoobiest burst on the scene in '93 with their near-Gold debut,
"Which Doobie U B," and proceeded to rock the airwaves with singles, " The
Funkiest," "Bow Wow Wow" and "Freak Mode." On their follow-up LP,"Brothas
Doobie," the group injected their party vibe with a dose of consciousness
on underground hits like "Dedicated" and "Rock On."
Funkdoobiest returns with their long-awaited third LP "Troubleshooters,"
a reference to the sweat and "trouble-shooting" that went into it.
The new joint boasts more cameos than ever before, and more attention
to the group's Latino roots, without losing their energy and humor of
their previous albums.
Throughout the album, manic rapper Sondoobie showcases a range of new MCs,
including Hitman, Hurricane G, Tony Touch, Ms. Uneek, MC Fats, Phelon,
Krumbsnatcher, Ski, LC, Cobra Red and Iriscience. Daz from Tha Dogg
Pound joins him on a cut.
